I) Is everything allright in London? Tell me about the band’s current events. Which country are you going to desecrate within the forthcoming months ? 

Fluff: Hey man how are you!!! Fuck I had to move out of London, too expensive!!!! I’m living about 100 miles away now in a cool town called Norwich. The other Gorerotted guitarist lives 5 minutes around the corner so we can hook up play shit and drink beer more often!! Right now we are shooting a video for ‘Only Tools And Corpses’ and hitting some more festivals in the summer. We just headlined a UK tour and the Unique Leader Death fest in Holland and we’ve got Kaltenbach (Austria), Braindead (France), Grind Your Mother Fest (Italy) + Party San and Summer Breeze in Germany to do next!!! Gonna be a cool year !!!!! 

II) After a first « common » album (“Mutilated in Minutes”), “Only Tools and Corpses” has now a more personal and proper sound. I have the impression that the second album often makes the difference. I personally think that your tribute to serial killers “To Catch a Killer” is the best track ! 

Fluff: Yeah we’ve kind of defined our style more with the new CD. ‘Mutilated In Minutes’ was like hey we are Gorerotted but ‘Only Tools..’ says this is our style and we like to play it. Its funny you like ‘To Catch a Killer’ a lot of people think its too much like Macabre or something. I really love the ending of that song when its just fast with guitars and slap bass. 

III) IMPETIGO or GUT are the real basics of the underground gore style, but CARCASS is also a main influence for other bands such as IMPALED’S, EXHUMED, or maybe GOREROTTED. When I listened to your album, I realized there were other stuffs than common death/grind ingredients. Generally, who brings the ideas in GOREROTTED ? 

Fluff: Carcass yeah!!! There would be no Gorerotted without Carcass, Cannibal Corpse or Macabre!!! Impetigo or Gut have no influence over Gorerotted’s sound. I write 75% of what Gorerotted does and I don’t ever listen to those two bands or own their CD’s. Nothing against them, I just don’t like that style. We have a lot of punk and also rock stuff going on in Gorerotted. We’ll also get ideas from film sound tracks, TV shows everywhere !!! 

IV) When I watch some pics of you guys, I have the impression you’re always fooling around. 

Fluff: We act like rock stars, like Motley Crue or Ozzy Osbourne, it’s the only way to behave when you are in a band. Yeah we like to fool around, get drunk and smash stuff up. We play with so many death and grind bands that are all brutal on stage and then are the most boring people you will ever meet. I can’t stand it, I wanna do the show, have some fucking fun and party till the morning. 

V) What do you think about sheer violence, about bands who use gore covers just to shock people? Besides, gore movies such as Bad Taste or Evil Dead have been successful because of their specific humour ! 

Fluff: there was a time a few years ago when every band would just download some sick picture from the net and use it for artwork, hell we even did it with our demos. I think now bands are getting back into original pieces of artwork instead of crime or murder photos!! I think its better this way!! You get some bands that are really great but nobody is gonna listen to them cause they got a dead women or huge cock or something on their album cover. Take Waco Jesus, fucking great band, but so many people are put off by the shit eating photos etc that they never listen to the good music on the CD. Funny gore shit like Bad Taste etc is cool but even then its still hard to get people to listen to the music or take the band seriously. 

VI) What I enjoyed in your music is the coexistence of 2 types of voices: duck’s shrieks on the one hand, and pig’s grunts on the other. Why are there 2 “singers” whereas one person may have been sufficient ? 

Fluff: What a stupid fucking question!!!!! How can one singer do the work or the three singers we have???? How the fuck can one singer do three vocal parts in different ranges all at the same time?? Sure on CD one guy could record each different part but live and on stage he ain’t gonna be able to reproduce it. That’s why we have different guys doing different things, to make it more enjoyable and varied. One vocal style in extreme metal can get really boring. 

VII) You use blood on stage like HAEMORRHAGE who use chirurgical material. Do you think that bloody aspect increases the visual impact of the band? How could you sum up a live performance of GOREROTTED ? 

Fluff: Nope we dumped the blood, we did about 50 shows wearing that shit and it just came to an end. We play more like a punk band these days. Straight onto stage and blast away, no gimmicks, no blood, no crap. Just get on the stage, get the shit played then get to the bar and nightclubs to get fucking wasted. 

VIII) Is the death/grind scene in England still existing? Because I have the impression that there are not so many bands who can get success. Since the NAPALM DEATH / CARCASS / BOLT THROWER wave, no relevant bands has emerged anymore. 

Fluff: We have some cool bands but its hard for them to make a name outside the UK. We are stuck on this island and if bands want to play abroad its plane tickets or expensive ferries. A lot of smaller bands just can’t do that shit. Cause Gorerotted has always kept control over a lot of its own money we’ve been able to afford to do festivals and shows in Europe. Check out Amputated and Screamin Daemon, they are both fucking cool new British bands. 

IX) Some words about the current terrorist attacks in Europe: a lot of countries are being targeted by terrorist threats for having supported Bush politics. Besides, Tony Blair’s situation is rather uncomfortable as he falsified some reports of the intelligence services. What is your personal feeling concerning these troubles? Do we have to prepare for a new world conflict ? 

Fluff: Countries are NOT being attack for supporting Blair/Bush. They are being attacked by mindless fucking idiots who use their religion and bullshit ways of life as an excuse to target innocent people. If these terrorists are so fucking brave why don’t they target the army or government? Why? cause they would stand a fucking chance in hell. They can bomb women and children in trains or blow up shopping centres because they are brainwashed fucking cowards. Here in the UK we have some real problems with foreign people living here and openly preaching hatred and violence against the British people and the British way of life. Holding protests in our streets calling for us to be killed and wiped off the earth!! What the fuck are these people doing in my country???? Throw the cunts into the fucking sea with a bullet in the head. I don’t pay my taxes so arseholes can live in my country, use our schools, use our hospitals and then want to destroy it all. Fuck them all. 

X) What I recently read about the tour with PUNGENT STENCH was funny, as far as the story with Mr. Gore who got lost in Hamburg is concerned. Maybe some members of the band have a “Jackass” or “Beavis and Butthead” influence, do they? How could you sum up the best souvenirs of that tour ? 

Fluff: This band is total Jackass!! Mr Gore is the worst person ever when he drinks. These days he has had to stop because of the shit that happens to him when he is drunk. Just smoking weed and drinking tea for that man now. Junky Jon is bad too, he can’t keep his trousers on and is gonna get arrested soon. I have some good memories of that tour but no souvenirs. I lost so much clothes and stuff on that tour and anything I didn’t lose I was sick on. 

XI) I must admit that your covers are totally obscene. Who does realize them? They are close to the comics’ universe with a filthy aspect. How do you explain that the “Mutilated in Minutes” cover has been modified? Besides, it is strange that you didn’t get serious censorship problems, all the more that you are on a German label ! 

Fluff: ha ha Gorerotted are so gay we can’t even get censored in Germany!!! What pussies we are!!! Yeap the covers are really like comics cause the artist is a comic artist, its Jake from Tales From Uranus. He does a lot of work for Razorback records bands too, check em out!! Oh yeah ‘Mutilated In Minutes’ cover got redone cause Relapse wanted a new piece of artwork for the re-release. 

XII) Can you tell me what has happened with Dead Again Records? When we type that name on the Internet, we are always redirected to the GOREROTTED website… 

Fluff: It was a label run by our manager and myself. We’ve closed it down now cause I’m too busy with Gorerotted. She has her own label called IBD records, she still has the Gorerotted album for Europe so you will see the IBD badge on the back of it now. 

XIII) TERRORIZER declared that you “use murder, violence and the suffering of others to promote [your] rather shoddy product”. Some years after, you were among the best extreme albums. This magazine has always been famous for its capacity to be mistaken in its forecasts. What is your opinion ?

Fluff: Your mistake my friend, it was Kerrang that said that about us. Terrorizer just ignored us till we got a lot of fans then suddenly became our friends.

XIV) Excepted when you drink alcohol and play rock n’ roll, what do you do in life? Maybe you collect stamps with your 10 years old sister or you prefer studying the transhumance of roaches in Mesopotamia? Well, it is late now. You can now promote your album for the last time and claim it is excellent! If you have a question or a last word, go ahead ! 

Fluff: not much. I sit around and play guitar a lot at home. Sometimes I talk to my cat and play with it in the garden. That’s my gay seceret.
