II) We’re gonna talk about your first and brand new album of course… Spread the Fire… Huh, what can I say about it ? It’s just fucking insane Thrash Metal!!!!! One of the most ass-kicking Thrash Metal albums in 2007! Or I should say 2006 since it was first released through Annialation Records… How did you guys manage to get in touch with Metal Blade ? Thank you very much! were glad you liked it! yes we did self release it in 2006 by our own label Annialation records, but it wasn't out a month yet and Brian Slagel heard us on the internet and contacted us by email saying that he really liked us and they were intrested in us, and we thought it was a friend playing a joke or something, and we asked him if this was real and he said yes this is real and they were interested, at that time Earache records was working things out with us and obviously you know who we decided to go with, and it was the right choice, were honored to be a part of Metal Blade!! III) The Metal Blade 2007 re-issue will indisputably help you to spread this fire! What is the feedback about it ? We are getting alot of good feed back on our album from the production of the album, to the cover art work, and of course our music, all of our fans love everything about it, and all the interviews we get seem to say the same! That it kicks ass ! IV) One of your tracks is called Thrash Is Back. I quite agree with you guys, since there has been a kind of Thrash Metal revival for a couple of years now. Do you think the essence of new Thrash Metal bands is the same as in the 80’s? What is your opinion about the nowadays scene ? Well the nowdays scene isn't as violent as the 80s scene, from what we hear from all the old school thrashers we talk to, but it is definatly alive and well, and its still growing, L.A. is fuckin insane, you can witness it on our myspace, we have videos and you can look it up on you tube, the scene out here is about having as much fun as possible, hanging out, having some beers, thrashing in the pitt! stage diving, and headbanging with you fist in the air! thats what its about! living the music ! V) Still talking about new bands, can you tell me which ones you were impressed by? Please don’t tell me MERCILESS DEATH, huh huh… HAHAHA ! Well us and Merciless Death go way back and we've grown together in this Thrash scene hear in L.A. so I would have to say them, but other than them there are so many bands like Meltdown originaly from Pittsburgh Pensylvania, they moved to L.A. just recently and they fuckin kick ass! Also Whitchaven from San Bernardino Ca, they kick ass to! and Hatchet from San Francisco Bay Area, true Bay Area thrash metal! Devastator From Sacramento Ca, they fuckin kick ass to! Also Unholy Lust is badass! and a few others! But the ones that really impress me and are my personal favorite, is Violator from Brazil those guys are fuckin amazing, when I got there EP Violent Mosh it was fuckin badass, then they came out with there first full length Chemical Assault it fuckin blew me away! those guys can fuckin thrash man! True thrash metal! Also theres Strike Master from Mexico, those guys kick some fuckin ass to ! VI) Ok, let’s go back to the album. The cover layout is absolutely awesome! We can see some emokids being strangled by a thrasher ah ah! Tell me more about how it was conceived! And what’s your opinion about trendy music ? FUCK trendy music! FUCK EMO, FUCK HARDCORE, FUCK NU METAL! There all fuckin POSERS! Yes this cover represent that THRASH is ALIVE and WELL! and its taking over and killing all the POSER trendy music ! such as the bullshit i mentioned at the beginning of this question! VII) Your lyrics often deal with circle pits (Massive Execution), stage diving (Thrash Is Back) or slamming (Chaotic Punishment). Do you think the real Thrash Metal essence can only be revealed on stage? Are gigs vital for FBF ? Yes
are lyrics in spread the fire deal a lot with how the L.A. Thrash scene
is and other things we like to talk about that happen either to us or
to our fans or people we know, or we just come up with a cool concept
for the song. But our shows are very important for us, thats where all
the energy is let out at from our music, and we do play new material
to, and thats how people find out about us there are still a lot of
fans here in L.A. that still hav'nt seen us live, so when they do see
us they'll know how to fuckin thrash ! Well Chaotic Punishment is actually about how sucurity takes adavantage of there power at the shows, not only the ones we play, also the ones we go to. Gio came up with this when we went to see Testament at the Key Club and one of our friends was trying to stage dive and they grabed him and took him to the back stage area and threw him against the wall on the floor and started to kick him, and not only that security gets a lil to carried away, they kick out our manager one time at one of our own shows ! FUCKIN ASSHOLES! but of course we got her back in, but yeah thats what Chaotic Punishment is about. IX) Metal Forever is a killer track too! Some bands are explicitly mentioned in the lyrics, such as IRON MAIDEN, TESTAMENT, SLAYER, DEATH, BLACK SABBATH, MEGADETH… Is it a kind of tribute to the old school spirit ? And what do you think about MEGADETH in 2007 ? Yes this song is a tribut to all the old school bands we listen to and the ones that influenced us a lot, from early Fueled By Fire to recent Fueled By Fire ! X) Gio, I love your vocals! Who are your most important influences ? Who are the singers you’d like to share a track with for instance? I'll let Gio answer this one! hahahaha ! Hi... I’m not living far from the borders, eh! Can you tell us about all other dates ? Well we're playing the KEEP IT TRUE Festival in Germany in April 2008, so we decided to start setting up a few dates in the surrounding areas such as France, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweeden, Holland, and a couple shows in Germany as well and other places but those are in the works as we speak, sow ehope every one out there will keep a look out for those dates ! XII) What about your recent US tour with AGENT STEEL, MUNICIPAL WASTE and TOXIC HOLOCAUST ? We've never been on tour with any of those bands, we've never been on tour at all! hahaha! a U.S. tour is in the works also. but we have played with those bands here in L.A. and all those shows have kicked ass ! XIII) I suppose some of you guys are of Mexican or South American origin, aren’t you ? What do you think about the role of South American Metal scene? I guess more and more killer bands are rising from this area (I’m thinking about the Thrash Metal bands from Chile for example)… What’s your point of view ? Yes were full blooded MEXICAN ! but the South American metal scene looks like its alive and well also, my favorite new thrash band is from there in Brazil! Violator!! but there are some kick ass thrash bands from out there and we would love to play with them some day! im glad there keeping the scene out there ALIVE ! but im not to sure where all the other bands are from i just know there from South America! and they kick ass !
