War Wolf Spirit » French label Resistancia Undergound has a new present for the fans of raw underground Black Metal. This time it is Gladsheim. Appearance is traditional for such releases - minimalistic (b/w) printer-printed cover, simple CD-R and ultra-limited hand-numbered (on cover and on matrix itself) 150 copies edition. Musically it's all the same - raw Black Metal recorded by one man Skoll. Not more, not less. The first two songs are as fast as dumb but rather evil, though a bit dull. The next two songs differ seriously - they are long (over ten minutes each) and changing mood - from wicked to sad (acoustic parts help in it). For example fifth track is a total worship to Nargaroth's "Seven tears…" but the intro is not so catchy, riffs are not so hooky, vocals a bit weaker and so on...but it contains really fast parts and acoustic interlude in the middle. The other songs are: two fast tracks in vein of the first ones and cover on Kristallnacht, where Sperm Syphilucum helped with screaming (as usual on Resistancia releases). What can be added? The album is not for everyone. There are lots of such bands and they are very similar with small differences in nuances that can attract one. Gladsheim can't provide some killer combinations or be called a loser. Anyway if you are into raw Black Metal try this one, maybe you'll like it. Par Utlagh |
